Firework displays lined up to light up Dorset skies

The skies over Dorset are all set to be lit up this summer in spectacular firework displays in the coming weeks. These enjoyable free events are at Bornemouth Pier, at Pooles Quay, Swanage and Christchurch.

The free event start with the Bournemouth Pier on 29th July, backed by the Bournemouth and Hotel Association (BAHA). Before the firework display at 10pm, live entertainment starts from 7pm, which includes stilt walkers, face painting, a fire show and a circus workshop, in the Lower Gardens. At the bandstand will be the Boscombe Salvation Army. The event will run on 5, 12, 19, 26 August also. The 19 August event will be part of the nigh air show and coincide with the Air Festival.

Families can enjoy Poole’s Summer Breeze on the Quay, with free entertainment starting at 7pm as part of Wave 105 Summertime in the South by Poole Tourism. Activities for families, with themed nights planned. The annual event offers in each week a different line-up. The free event ends at 10pm with a fireworks finale, on 21 July. Other displays will be on 28 July and later on 4, 11, 18 and 25 August.

The annual carnival at Swanage will also have a fireworks display viewable from the jetty on the main beach. Displays will run on 30 July and later on 3 and 6 August. The Christchurch Carnival will also have free firework display on the Quay, on 14 August evening, as a closing for the free event. The day will also see a carnival street procession, a funfair, displays, music and activities.
