The Riverside Museum is celebrating five years in its present location in Glasgow. The museum on the north bank of River Clyde has announced a packed summer programme of free events. It will start off on 25th June, when the popular summer beach will open with an Out of Africa event. Visitors will see local musicians play African drums every hour and can join them in dance. The African Women’s Empowerment Agency will be offering delicious Nigerian food. Local craftspeople will demonstrate making of traditional fashion accessories, that will be later for sale. Children can learn traditional printing techniques and bead-making skills.

The beach also opens for the season, hosting beach sports and the opportunity to relax with giant deckchairs. Visitors to Riverside can see the latest major display- Toucans and Lollipops. The museum will hold the free event of Out of Africa on 25th June (Saturday), from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, and there will be family-friendly events.
