British Military Fitness holding free classes in Coventry

June 16th, 2016 by Sandy

British Military Fitness (BMF) will be running free introductory fitness sessions in Coventry’s War Memorial Park, south of the city. The hour-long classes aim to motivate beginners and those returning to exercise and will take place every first Saturday of every month, from June to September this year.

The sessions are an effective and fun way of getting fit, along with like-minded participants. They are led by former members and serving personnel of the armed forces. Research found that 1 in 5 people in Britain, feel not fit enough to exercise. But with encouragement by expert instructors, people joining can workout in pairs and groups, to burn up calories, even up to 700 in each session.

The managing director of BMF, Harry Sowerby, said you needn’t be super fit to join the ranks and each session is varied to motivate body and mind. The training, designed to increase stamina, agility, strength and speed, is interesting but fun and people just need to put on trainers to the park, with the rest being done by BMF, he added.
