Free art and music in the streets of Southampton soon

Showcase Gallery of Southampton Solent University will be bringing live art and music to the streets of the city on 25th June (Saturday). The Guildhall Square in Southampton will be venue to the free event. Street Jam Live will showcase to the public the work of leading international street artists, graffiti artists and illustrators. Works will be created on boards, large canvases and industrial cling film. Illustration Showdown is a competition of live art at the Jam.

The SOCO Music Project will put up an open mic stage to host impromptu acts by local rhymers and hip-hop artists. There will be activities for people of all ages. They can join in to learn live music making or some skills. There’s open mic sessions, a community stencil wall and a kids chalk area. A great opportunity for all to see musicians and artists working live. The free event will run from 10am to 5pm on the day in Southampton.
