May 15th, 2016 by Sandy

Free taster courses are being offered by the South Staffordshire College in preparation for the ‘Festival of Learning’ in UK. The festival runs from the beginning of May, up to the end of June. The new Festival of Learning was previously called ‘Adult Learners Week’.

An engaging programme of activities has been worked out across Staffordshire, by the South Staffordshire College. They provide opportunities for people aged over 19 to develop new skills, find a new hobby, or enhance their career prospects. The sessions will be held at various community venues and even at libraries situated in Lichfield, Rugeley, Cannock, Burntwood and Tamworth.

Workshops on subjects like Spanish, sign language, aromatherapy, painting, drawing and many more, will be run by the college. Nicola Humphries, community education manager, said that they believe education must be available for all, no matter what age or interest. They are proud to provide for all, wanting to learn a new skill, find a hobby or meet other like minded people, an opportunity, added the education manager.

All the courses and taster sessions are free. Contact the college’s community learning team on 01543 301198 or 01827 304337. Details of the free courses offered for the Festival of Learning are on the website – southstaffs.ac.uk.
