Free entry to zoo and activities on St. George’s Day in Dudley
Dudley Zoo has teamed up with Dudley Council to offer free tickets on 23rd April (Saturday)as part of the celebrations on St. George’s Day in the town, A fun-filled day of activities will be held at the Zoo. A limited number of visitors on the day will be given free entry to Dudley Zoo from 3:00pm.
A host of activities and events will be celebrated on St. George’s Day, with activities like face painting and crafts, including entertainers Flip and Dippy. The sea-lion and penguin enclosures will have extra talks and feeds. In the afternoon there will be history talks and ghost tours. Refreshments themed on St. George’s Day will be available at Queen Mary restaurant. People will be able to meet creatures of the animal encounter feature in the morning at Dudley Market. At the Dudley Museum & Art Gallery free craft activity will be held free for kids between 10:30am and 3:30pm. At 11:00am there will be a St. George’s Day short-film shown. Craft activity at Dudley Library will be held form 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

A limited number of free tickets will be available on St. George’s Day at the libraries of Halesowen, Brierley Hill, Stonebridge and Dudley, the Dudley Market Place and Dudley Museum & Art Gallery. Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Steve Waltho, said there will be plenty going on at the town centre and in the castle courtyard.
Free event of Brighton Fringe to launch with fireworks
The Brighton Fringe festival will launch off with its first ever fireworks display. The free event starts off on 6th May, Friday, with fireworks launched from the top of St. Peter’s Church. England’s largest arts festival will feature this year a record breaking 900 events of different genre for visitors. They include world class theatre and comedy, visual art, live music, international cabaret and hit family shows.
Managing Director of Brighton Fringe, Julian Caddy, said it’s just right to start England’s largest arts festival with something spectacular from the top of one of the most iconic buildings in Brighton. The Friday opening night’s fireworks party will start at 9:00am at The Warren. The festival runs from 6th May to 5th June, this year.
