Swansea’s spectacular show in the skies, the Wales National Airshow, will have more aircraft on show and ground based attractions too, this year. The free 2-day event to be held along
the promenade will be be hosted on 2nd July (Saturday) and 3rd July (Sunday) of this year.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is back this year, to take to the skies along with the Red Arrows, who will be making the headline appearance at the air-show. The Typhoon is a fighter jet with cutting-edge technology and capable of cruise speeds of around 1,000mph. A Chinook, the versatile support helicopter, will be on static display on ground too. The air-show on its fourth time in the city, is part of events programme- ‘Enjoy Swansea Bay’ .
Swansea Council’s cabinet member for enterprise, development and regeneration, Councillor Robert Francis Davies, said the Eurofighter Typhoon, enormously popular at past events, is returning once again this summer. They are doing all they can to deliver a world-class spectacle and more ground-based entertainment and aircraft will be confirmed in coming weeks, he added.
