Kawasaki to hold open event K-World Live
Kawasaki has announced the return of its annual live event as the all-new K-World Live 2016 event. The free event will be held at the Silverstone Circuit, in Northamptonshire, this year, on 18th June, Saturday. The event promises to be bigger and better than ever before and is completely free, open to all fans of two-wheelers. There will be plenty for all ages to see and do at the event. There’ll be track sessions on the National Circuit, ride-outs on Kawasaki models, Team Green rider interviews, plus a dedicated Kid’s Zone and a Kiddimoto experience. There will be a retail area for sale of official Kawasaki merchandise.
The Marketing Section Head, Gill Jockel, at Kawasaki Motors UK, said that last year’s World of Kawasaki event was a great success and this year they are making it better and bigger. There’s a new name of K-World Live and visitors will be introduced to the new arena experience, she added. Those who pre-register for the free event by Kawasaki, will get the opportunity to win VIP tickets (a pair) to the British Superbike Championship.
Free event of Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On 2016 weekend
This year Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On ceremony will be a free event. This has been confirmed by tourism bosses who hope to generate publicity worldwide. The Blackpool Illuminations Switch On Festival Weekend will be held on 2nd (Friday), 3rd (Saturday) and 4th (Sunday) of September this year.
Visit Blackpool has partnered with Nickelodeon, to present the first ever Nickelodeon’s ‘SLMEFEST’, as part of the Switch-On Weekend. Hoteliers are also happy the Friday night ceremony is being held as a free event. This follows the experience of the 2013 event, when tickets were sold, it backfired and loss was made. The Blackpool Council’s head of visitor economy, Philip Welsh, confirmed the Switch-On will be for free, to tourism leaders and hoteliers attending the 2016 season launch.
