St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated on 13th March, Sunday, in London, where thousands of people will be gathering at Trafalgar Square and central London to celebrate it. More than 100,000 people are expected to join a huge parade and participate in a cultural festival of music and dance.
London is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day a few days earlier on Sunday. The Feast o St. Patrick is a religious and cultural event taking place on 17th March, Thursday. This is the day, the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick died in the year 461AD. Over 150,000 people are expected to crowd the capital city’s streets on this festival day.
The parade will start from Piccalilly at midday and make its way to Trafalgar Square by around 6:00pm. The parade will have 32 floats, representing all the counties of Ireland, and move on to Lower Regent, the Mall and Cockspur Street, before reaching the square and ending at Whitehall. The parade will have marching bands, dancing groups, pageantry, community floats, giant figures and other forms representing Irish culture and heritage. The festival will end with live music performances and a huge after party at Trafalgar Square. This is a free event and not cost anything.
