A free road safety event is being organised on 2nd April, Saturday, from 10am to 3pm, at the Rockingham Circuit. Large numbers of visitors are expected to crowd the Open Roads event

The Rockingham Open Roads day that is being organised by the Police and Fire and Rescue Service of Northamptonshire, will involve over 30 activities, demonstrations and stands. The free event includes a display of modified and super cars plus an array of motorbikes on show. There’ll also be examples of what takes place during Police pursuits and also entertainment for children.

Simulated demonstrations of rescue, involving each of the emergency services, will be run by firefighters of Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service. There will be motorbike safety sessions and taster sessions that include CarKraft skid training in Renault cars. There will be Discovery and Lotus driving simulators, a lorry driving demo highlighting blind spot dangers, a Police Helicopter on display, a chance to involve with the interactive exhibits and to pick up useful safety tips.

The free event aims to provide a fun day out for visitors, be it non-drivers or drivers, young and old, or families. The open day aims to help cut down the number of people getting injured or killed on Northamptonshire’s roads.
