Tickets are free and open to the WOW247 Awards night
The awards ceremony for this year’s WOW246 Awards will take place on 25th January, at The Kings Theatre in Southsea, Portsmouth. Tickets to the event are free and doors will be open to attendees from7:00pm for the start at 7:30pm. The awards ceremony night is a celebration of arts and culture from Portsmouth and surrounding areas. Fourteen awards will be announced from a shortlist for this year’s WOW247 Awards.
Besides awarding the 13 category winners and the winner of the Special Achievement award, there will be great acts being performed on the awards night. Mollie Jay Hughes, the talented singer and winner of Instant Star competition, will be performing. An excerpt by Portsmouth Players from their version of Spamalot, the hit musical, will be played out. An up and coming student’s band- Hollowed Hour , from the Portsmouth College, the awards’ sponsor, will be performing here.
The Atrium will play host this year to an official after-party, which is very near to the Kings Theatre. It will feature performances of a few of the nominees. You need not be a performer or nominee to come and attend, as the tickets are fee and open to all. Free taster session of courses at Atrix, Bromsgrove
Start the new year with a new course and beat the blues. Pick from the many courses offered at Atrix in Bromsgrowve, West Midlands, for adults and children. Courses range from belly dancing and ballet to stand-up comedy, at this multi-disciplinary arts centre.
Children aged 6 to 9 years can join ‘Out of the Box’, the Juniors acting course held on Tuesday evenings. Little-Songstars Showchoir is for kids aged 5 to 9 years. Songstars Junior Showchoir is for 10 to 15 year-olds. Songstars Adult Showchoir welcomes members aged 16 and above.
For those who have not tried ballet, there’s the Adult Ballet Beginners Class. The class for Belly Dancing is for all levels, which is low-impact but can build core strength and flexibility. There’s Theo’s Comedy Skool, run by the professional comedian and writer, Theo, which helps fine-tune comedy skills and develop stage presence. A new term begins on 26 January, Tuesday.
