Free sessions of Kwik Fit tyre workout classes

A new fitness class is being trialled by the car servicing giant Kwik Fit, which is being called Fit Kwik. The workout session on trial at a London garage in the heart of south London, has been designed by Kwik Fit technicians and Mikah Simpson, the personal trainer. The no frills, stripped down regime launched, is using van and car tyres only, on a back to basics fitness class, involving tyre flips, throws and lifts. The participants are expected to burn away up to 1,200 calories in a 30 minute session.
Technicians at Kwik Fit noticed a link between the amount of time spent in lifting heavy tyres everyday and their fitness levels, which led to development of the class. Mikah Simpson said that without doubt tyres for a workout help not only for lifting but on floor for cardio-exercises. It is important to get started and enjoy it in a fun atmosphere, which they promise to create, and feel something has been done worthwhile, he explained. The free session runs throughout this January on 4 Sunday mornings. The Kwik Fit website has more information on the class.
