Free event for vulnerable kids in Glasgow

November 24th, 2015 by Sandy

The #Engage event is a massive free event for vulnerable children and young people. The event is to be held on 30th November, Monday, and is being organised by Specialist Children’s Services (SCS) of NHSGGC at the Glasgow Science Centre. The event runs on Monday, from 11:00am to 6:30pm. The event is in partnership with Yorkhill Children’ s Charity and is a large scale event that includes a range of games, exhibitions and activities. SCS cares for young people and children who have mental health issues that are life-limiting and/or life-long health problems.

Nicolas McDonald, the X Factor star, and the star, from blockbuster film Frozen by Disney, Elsa, are two of the attractions lined up for performing. High-profile attractions are also lined up, like some of the Guide Dogs from Blind Children UK, four of the finest of Police Scotland’s horses and their mounted officers and a tour of a fire-engine by fire-fighters.

The head of the SCS, of NHSGGC, Stephan McLeod, said they have tailored the event to make it interesting to young people, so they can engage them as much as possible. They will continue to increase awareness of their service and reach out to as many vulnerable children and young people possible, he added. Entry is free to this free event at the science centre, with free car-parking. For more information go to the website- nhsggc.org.uk/scs.
