Free preview event on Huddersfield Literature Festival

November 21st, 2015 by Sandy

A sneak preview to next year’s Huddersfield Literature Festival will be hosted as a free event on 25th November, from 6pm to8pm, at the Methodist Mission on Lord street. The organisers of the festival, that was started in 2006, will showcase, in this free evening of entertainment, some of the confirmed acts of the centenary event in 2016, which will run from 3rd to 13th March.

Councillor Paul Kane, the mayor of Kirklees, will present the official welcome and guests here will be offered a food selection from across the world and dishes from Turtle Bay, a new Caribbean restaurant. The free event will present the current social media project, which will be continued throughout the festival. Committee members have shared their favourite books here, from the decade. The festival director, Michelle Hodgson, said they thought it can be interesting to share on social media the favourites of the committee, besides encouraging others to talk about theirs. Their ‘Pearls’ project will further explore this idea at the literature festival, he added. A wide range of events, including free events like ‘Family Day’, will be offered in 2016 and anyone who’ve not attended the festival can see what’s being offered at the Preview, the mayor explained.
