The Kington Food and Drink Festival will be held in Kington town in Hertfordshire for the 11th time, which is an annual winter festival. Food and drink connoisseurs will be landing here next month for the free event to be held on 5th December (Saturday) and organisers say more stalls than ever before have been booked this time. The free even will be hosted from 9:30am to 3:00pm. What started 11 years ago with 18 traders has grown year by year, to attract an estimated 3,000 visitors to the town, as seen last year.
The event under a marquees, has stalls booked for French goods, wine, preserves, chocolatiers, bakers and cured meats. A wine tasting competition, a cookery shop and the Real Ale Challenge Trophy have been also organised. Pam Peek, organiser, said what started as a chamber initiative has grown in size and with traders geared up for the festive season, mainly from the Welsh border counties and Hertfordshire. Visitors walking around the place can look out for the pop-up street music. It would be anything from a full choir to a lone street saxophonist, she added. Santa Claus from the North Pole might might make a special stop and children have a craft workshop for making festive cards and Christmas decorations, she also said.
