Free tickets to Shakespeare on Film Festival

The annual film festival, Shakespeare on Film, will be held on 31st October, Saturday, in Stratford. The festival organised by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, launched the festival in 2013, celebrates new films inspired by Shakespeare. Screenings commence at 6:30pm. Budding film makers from across the world will be at Stratford to attend te competition, which invites entries of people of all ages, who have produced a Shakespeare related film, using any form of technology, be it the latest professional camera equipment or just a smartphone. This year’s festival will see 47 entries coming in from 7 countries, which includes the UK, the USA, Italy, Poland, Australia and Ireland. After the screening of 12 selected works, the winner of the Shakespeare Short Film Competition will be announced.

Organiser of the Shakespeare Film Festival, Marion Morgan, said they wanted people of all backgrounds and ages to make a personal connection wit Shakespeare. Film-makers get a platform to express their appreciation of the works, life and times of Shakespeare, using the power of film to present their vision creatively for a wider audience, she added.
