Free preview tours of Pontio Bangor, Gwynedd

The new Pontio Bangor will be offering preview tours later this month to give visitors a peek at what’s going on behind the doors of the new Arts and Convention Centre, worth £49 million. The tours start from 28th October, will be for 90 minutes and held on 6 separate days, up to 7th November.
Free tickets to the preview tours will be offered on 15th October (Thursday), from 10am onwards. Tickets are free, but subject to availability and can be booked by phoning on 01248-382828 to the Box Office. Or call at the Pontio shop situated at Bangor’s High Street to get them.
Visitors get the chance to see on the grounds of the building, Joep van Lieshout’s Caban public artwork. These tours form part of Pontio’s preview period, hosting taster events before a formal Welcome Day on 28th November, to commence the full artistic programme ay the centre in Gwynedd, north east Wales.
The Pro Vice Chancellor of Bangor University, Prof. Jerry Hunter, said the preview tours will show FabLab; Student’s Union facilities, the learning space, the food and drink outlets and also the cinema and studio space- Theatr Bryn Terfel. He added that they are pleased to offer free tickets to as many people possible for preview tours and thus the opportunity for them to come and look around.
