Kent Police offer micro-chipping of dogs for free

Dog owners in Sheerness will be benefited, as Kent Police have partnered with Swale Borough Council and the Dog Trust to offer free micro-chipping of dogs. This free service will be available on 10th October (Saturday), at the Tesco Supermarket in Sheerness, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The police officers will be at hand at the supermarket, situated on Bridge Road. Sheerness, to offer the free micro-chipping service. By micro-chipping dogs, many of the lost dogs can be found when lost or stolen and reunited with their rightful owners.
PCSO Laura McCall has pointed out the importance of the system, as she has reunited many lost dogs, with the help of a micro-chip reader, to their owners. In the line of work, they come across many stray dogs, sometimes stolen, and it is frustrating to be not able to trance their owners, she added. She explained that micro-chipping by owners will be crucial for them to locate owners, as it will be law from April 2016. The free event is open to any dog owner regardless of the place they live in the county and it will save them money.
