The National Fitness Day is being planned as UK’s biggest fitness festival, as hundreds of health clubs, gyms, leisure centres parks and organisations are opening doors to people and offering free fitness sessions on 9th September (Wednesday). This year almost 2,000 venues will be opening their doors to participants. Both fitness fanatics and phones are encouraged to try out exercising in the quest for a healthier lifestyle. This year the National Fitness Day is expected to be bigger and better than before, in a bid to make 9th September the most active day of the year, building upon the success of last year. Venues last year offered a free ‘Power-Half-Hour’ exercise session to all. Nearly 27 million people were reached.
The leading not-for-profit health body- ukactive, will be working with a cross-section of those involved. They include members, schools, charities, businesses, non-members and even Members of Parliament. The body by working with different stakeholders aims to get the involvement of as many members of the public on this most active day of the year, as may be possible. So, everyone is being encouraged to get together and involved, and not miss this great opportunity to get active, plus avail the free sessions and open days being offered by venues across the whole country.
