Google to teach children coding for free, this summer

Internet giant Google will be holding a series of classes over the summer, called the Summer of Science, for children. The classes to be held from 21st July to 27th August, will teach kids the basics of coding, what is virtual reality and how to make music with sweets. The classes are designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years. Children with little or no technology know-how already, can join the class which are developed to enhance digital skills and also cover the basics of coding. They will be taught to create music with sweets and using a MaKey-MaKey circuit-board kit, also using Google Cardboard headset made for virtual reality.

As part of its Summer of Science scheme, Google has developed the classes teaming up with Young Rewired State, Teen Tech, Code Club and Raspberry Pi. All are free classes and are being held at the Google outlets hosted at Currys PC World stores situated in Fulham, Thurrock and Tottenham Court Road.
