A week long workshop is being organised online by science fiction and fantasy publisher Orbit Books, during this summer. It will take place for a week, starting on 27th July, Monday, and ends on 31st July, Friday. It will be led by the author, Karen Miller. Aspiring authors are invited to OrbitBooks.net, to take part online in a “write along” challenge. During the workshop, they will write a new fantasy novel over the week, which participating writers can submit as their sample into a competition. All samples submitted will be read by the Orbit team. At least one writer chosen will be granted a set of editorial consultation with the author Karen Miller and an editor of the publisher. Announcements will be made during the week revealing more details.
On 27th July (Monday), Karen Miller will set the challenge and be posting during the rest of the week advice and words of encouragement. On 29th July, the author will take part in a session- “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit. Those aspiring authors wishing to take part in the free workshop can have more information on Twittler handle @Orbit books.
