‘Theatre in the Square’ is sure to thrill theatre-lovers this June, with a series of free outdoor shows in Lyric Square, Hammersmith. Running from 9 June to 24 June is a series of free events. Theatre in the Square is created b the Lyric Theatre, that is producing free theatre shows for passers-by to enjoy. Passers-by can enjoy the programme of shows for free at Lyric Square. The programme in June includes shows such as Boy Meets Girl. This show, by Zest Theatre Company, will run on June 9 and June 10, which is the first play in the programme and performed outdoors. This play is an interactive love story. Two soundtracks, one for the Boy and one for the Girl, will come through a set of headphones worn by each member of the audience. They can choose to listen to either the Boy’s story, or to the Girl’s story. The play has no spoken works and the soundtracks merge as the characters meet, with the story coming through the headphones. Although a free play, this is the start of a national performance. This has been performed throughout the country and has a spontaneous style to it for the actors.
