Runnymede will be hosting a pageant on 14th June, Sunday, between 10:00am and 6:00am at Runnymede Pleasure Ground, Windsor Road, Egham, Surrey, to mark the 800th Anniversary of the Magna Carta. The free event will have a performance a 2-hour re-enacting of the events when the charter was made in 1215.
The performance reflecting the sealing of the Magna Carta will be enacted by Past Pleasures, a historical interpretation company. There will be events for children like face-painting and key-ring making. Picnics and dogs of families will be allowed. Food, drink and a bar-tent will be available . There will be no public parking for the event. Queries regarding the pageant can be sent by email to the Runnymede Borough Council, addressed to pageant@runnymede.co.uk. Visitors can register for free tickets at the Runnymede Borough Council website, on a first come first served basis. Each registration will be permitted up to 6 tickets. No tickets required to watch from the river banks of the Runnymede Pleasure Ground the River Relay.
