Pilates is a type fitness programme that can accommodate all ages and body flexibility. With this as emphasis, Pilates ABC Henley is welcoming all beginners, of any age, to join the free taster sessions being offered. Alyth Yealland, its owner, teaches gentle balance exercises for posture, muscle tone, flexibility and for joint and back pain. She took up pilates earlier to help her back and convinced of her won success went ahead to train and teach pilates to others. She is very proud of her clients achievements and she teaches for all levels. She has observed a increase of clients above 70, but stressed it can be taken up by all ages.
According to the client’s needs, the movements are choreographed to suit them. Depending on the individual’s need, alternatives and adaptations are offered. She teaches pilates for patients with arthritis, osteoporosis, Parkinson’s, hip and joint replacements and also for fall prevention and breathing problems.
