The National Golf Month has line up various initiatives for the moth of May, with American Golf lending nationwide support, playing an integral role to grow the game of golf. Director of National Golf Month, Doug Poole, said with support of American Golf, many PGA professionals are at hand to provide free coaching at many venues. American Golf is offering many opportunities, with 73 stores signed up, to offer free coaching sessions. Anybody wanting to try the gold club for the first time or catch-up on golfing skills, are welcome to the hour long sessions. Open to everyone, all participants get a 2-pack of Wilson DX soft balls.
In a move to remove some barriers to unrepresented groups, many stores offer specific junior and women’s sessions. American Golf has also joined hands with Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign to promote golf. The joint promotion aims to reach non-golfers, offering immediate access to free taster sessions of National Golf Month. American Golf is set to launch its new web pages, aiming to promote the benefits of golf, as an accessible healthy sport and remove barriers to participation. Their support to National Golf Monty with free taster sessions, is first of several initiatives to be undertaken in 2015, to help promote the game of golf. They are supporting the National Golf Month hosted 30ft Putt challenge. American Golf will be holding the Long Drive Championship, their first 9-hole Championship and also their nationwide Junior Championship.
