For those people looking for work or volunteering to learn some new skills, there will be a range of one-off workshops running at the Balsam Centre, Wincanton, South Somerset. The skills learnt can be related to work, but it is equally about social skills, boosting confidence, picking up friends and contacts.
On 13th April, Monday, there’s a jewellery workshop starting at 1pm and runs up to 4pm., to learn to make jewellery by hand using beads and bits of things. On 16th April there’s a Ebay workshop to learn how to list items, take photos, or find best times to list an auction, or the ideal price to start at. It will run from 1pm to 5pm. Other workshops will be brought in later. There’ll be a basic car maintenance workshop for women, so that cars run as efficiently as they can. A DIY workshop too is being planned.
