Free event to help fitness, at Lydiard Park, Swindon

There are many helpful ways to maintain fitness and while commuting to work. Cycling is just one and another is jogging. ‘Run to work’ groups across Britain are now helping people to keep fit, using their daily commute to work. Jogging to work can be done comfortably. On completion you need to freshen up or shower. It is really cheap too and needs hardly any equipment. Just pick the right footwear, clothing and rucksack.

Visit Run Swindon in Wood Street, to find out the best running style that suits you. A Swindon Active Travel map, on request, can help find the right paths and quiet routes to help you on foot. There’s lot of support from Swindon’s friendly running clubs, such as, the Swindon Harriers, the Swindon Striders, Swindon Shin Splits or the Highworth Running Club. Another way is to join Swindon Parkrun, which is a weekly fun run, a free event that is held every Saturday at Lydiard Park, Swindon, held at 9.00am. It gives everybody the chance to run five kilometres against the clock. Helps family fitness too. Try it out and learn to keep fit. Try it on your daily commute to work.
