Free taster sessions to learn arts, hobbies, activities at Tamworth
If anyone wishes to try out something new, like a hobby, or art, or activity, here is the chance, as a programme of free arts taster sessions at Tamworth can help. Taster sessions are being held across venues in the community over 12 weeks. The sessions come to an end on 4th April, Saturday. So adults and children are being encouraged to take this opportunity to try out a new skill or hobby, all free of charge. Lots of people are trying out a range of activities that includes tap dancing, street dancing, drama and singing workshops, painting, crafts and others.
Various workshops and classes are being held including creative writing, Latin dance, guitar lessons, dress making, arts and crafts, etc. These taster sessions it is hoped will urge people to take up a new pastime or fun activity for the long term later. Many interested have made enquires and formed groups, as a result of these free taster sessions. This is part of the 12-month project called I Am Tamworth, which is like bringing a festival to the borough. All are free sessions and as many people can join. Free Tickets to ‘meet the riders’ at North West 200 launch
The North West 200 organisers are offering 1,000 free tickets to an event that is the official launch this year. The event (2015 Vauxhall-International North-West 200 launch) will be held on 24th March (Tuesday) in the evening in Belfast, at Titanic Belfast, the venue being the Titanic Suite. Attending the event will be a host of riders, the top names of road racing. Invitees and fans will get the opportunity to meet them at a special meet and greet session, following the press launch in the afternoon.
Clare McCollum with Stephen Watson, will be hosting at the event, a special quiz, the ‘Question of Bikes’. Two teams of riders will be competing in the quiz here. A line-up of some of the modern-era competitors, machines that will be competing in the races this year, will be on display. Also, on the night, attendees can see the special guest apprarance of the greats from past years. An event no racing fan should miss with the chance to cat with orgainsers, meet their favourite riders for autographs and photographs. Free events, family fun hosted at the Easter Adventure in Boscombe
A host of free events will be held in Boscombe, thanks to the business owners of Boscombe, on Easter weekend. It also celebrates Lewis Caroll’s Alice in Wonderland book’s 150th anniversary. Activities are being planned on 3rd April (Good Friday) and 4th April (Saturday).
Family fun entertainment has been organised across various locations that include the Sovereign Centre, Boscombe Gardens and the high street, with support from the Coastal Business Development District (BID). It includes Mad Hatter hosted tea parties in Boscombe Chine Gardens and White Rabbit’s treasure hunt. Family fun day includes a nature trail quiz, a fun dog-show, fancy-dress competition, live music, children’s entertainers and many more.
