A showcase event of the ‘Laughter of Lasses’ will be taking place on 10th March, Tuesday at Cluny2, the music and comedy venue in Ousenbum Valley, of Newcastle. The event is in celebration of Women’s Day, and it starts at 7:00PM, with entry being free.
Sharon Race is a North East writer and comedian who has been commissioned by Launchpad, the mental health awareness group based in Newcastle, to run comedy workshops, with funding by Community Foundation’s Women’s Fund. Sharon is the resident MC of the Laughing Lasses Comedy Club. Launchpad strives to improve mental health services and to promote them is a safe and friendly environment.
Comedy is a proven ice-breaker and Launchpad is happy to let Sharon Race do the laughter generating job. 7 women have already signed up, intrigued by the idea. Sharon will talk to them about how to write comedy, about improving self-confidence and encourage creativity. The workshops can be attended on 10th March at Cluny2, where the rookies will perform in public in a free event. Participants will have the final workshop for performing, on Saturday (14 March) at Cluny2.
