January 23rd, 2015 by Sandy

The Baildon Town Council will be hosting a free event, a community fair, later this month, which is an initiative to enhance and promote local community life. The free event will be held in Newton Way, Baildon, at the Methodist Centre, on 24th January (Saturday), from 10:00am.

The chairman of the event and councillor is Joe Ashton, who said that this is a great opportunity for people to learn more about the services available and also on what is going on in their neighbourhood. They will be launching a new campaign entitled ‘Building a Better Baildon’, to get as many people possible involved in local projects, he added. He pointed out that there are already four groups confirmed for the free event, namely, Hale health project, Baildon’s Dementia Friendly group, ‘Be Neighbourly’- Bradford Council’s campaign and Shipley & Bingley Voluntary Services, but expressed his wish to see churches, youth organisations and every kind of groups to also participate.
