The Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue is starting off a free ‘fitness taster’ campaign for local people at their retained fire-stations. The sessions look to launch a fitness regime taking on 5 exercise-themed tasks and to become an on-call fire-fighter. The fire-fighting team hopes these sessions will motivate residents to find out more on how to help the local community.
The recruitment officer at Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, Madeline Martin, said, for people looking to be fitter, healthier or looking for a challenge, they could actually join the local fire-stations to achieve all those and more, and become a paid on-call fire-fighter with full training.
The free taster sessions are taking place as follows: On 24 January, Saturday, at Wainfleet, Mablethorpe and Crowland; on 31 January, Saturday, at Waddington, Crowland and Billinghay; on 1 February, Sunday, at Billingborough and on 7 February, Saturday, Wragby, (10am to 1pm).
