Free entry to events of 2015 UK StreetVelodrome Series

The StreetVelodrome Series is the only pop-up velodrome event in the world. The 2015 UK StreetVelodrome Series will be hosted in the coastal resort of Worthing in West Sussex, over the weekend of 1 August and 2 August.

The StreetVelodrome Series is touring the United Kingdom over the year, to bring to the people the heart-pounding excitement and drama on the innovative pop-up track complete with banking corners. It aims to create a positive impact on individuals and local communities. The UK series events will be recorded for UK TV, televised as the StreetVelodrome series in UK and overseas in over 180 countries.

The series gives the opportunity for local amateur cyclists to participate free alongside professionals on equal terms. Spectators too will be free to watch the event and enjoy the action of top riders competing in races. Locally qualified amateur cyclists will complete and losing riders eliminated to reduce the field, for the best to vie for top slots on the medal table.

The decision to bring the free event of SteetVelodrome was taken by Bryan Turner of Worthing Borough Council, the Executive Member for Regeneration. The London Bike Show to be held on 12 to 15 February will reveal more details of the Worthing event and the rest of the series. Media persons will experience the sport first hand with coaching and also the use of race specification bikes available. Free entry is given to spectators and for participants.
