Free taster music lessons on the 2015 National Learn-to-Play Day

December 23rd, 2014 by Sandy

The fourth National Learn-to-Play Day, coming in 2015, promises to be its biggest outing as yet, with more of everything- events, celebrity guests, venues and free taster lessons. It will take place on 21st March, Saturday, and in a first for the event, some participating venues will be hosting it on 22nd March, Sunday, also.

The event, which aims to motivate more people to play musical instruments, has over 10,000 free lessons being offered on a range of instruments, by fully qualified music teachers. They include drums, percussion, piano, violin, trumpet, oboe, keyboard, bass, guitar and many others and also singing and DJ mixing.

To make the day possible, is of course by the work of Music for All, UK MI charity, in partnership with the Take it Away scheme, the musicians union, instrument makers, various music venues and shops, Rockschool and musicradar.com. It’s all to inspire everybody, both young and old, to get all involved in this great opportunity.

This is the chance to either start playing or rediscover the playing of an instrument. A number of celebrity guests will also be featured here, along with a host of additional events, on the day. Besides, numerous free taster lessons are being offered. Previous years have seen music lessons being given free, by the cast of successful West End musical shows, besides their showing how to play, to the public.
