Free taster session of burlesque classes in Harlow
Burlesque Gem is offering a free taster session to start off its campaign- ‘New Year, New Confident You’, which attempts to encourage more women to go all out, shedding their inhibitions. The free taster session will be held on 13 January, Tuesday, from 7PM to 8PM, at Latton Bush Centre in Southern Way, Harlow, Essex. The free sessions are part of the campaign and the classes are open to all women irrespective of age, shape or abilities.
Burlesque Gem was started by Jem Ayres in 2011 in Staple Tye, and has ever since grown from strength to strength. They go for appearances at arts festivals, vintage fairs, cabaret charity events and even burlesque residential weekend. Jem Ayres, a businesswoman, said burlesque dance is a way to keep fit, build confidence, meet friends and have fun. The free taster session for burlesque dance classes is a friendly session with a relaxed introduction to a great dance form, she added. Paid classes start in the following week. Kids get a free Christmas show at Allendale Centre, Wimborne
Children can enjoy a free Christmas show, scheduled to take place at the Allendale Centre, in Dorset, this month. The show, ‘Beyond a Joke’ hosted by Circus Berzercus, will be held on 20 December, a Saturday, starting at 10:00am, with doors open at 9:45pm for entry. While the children get entertained here, parents or guardians can enjoy shopping at the centre. Kids between the ages of 5 and 12 are invited to a programme of circus antics, magic tricks, fun and hilarious jokes, folowed by an interval and to finish by 12 Noon. There’s also free face-painting. The show is possible thanks to the Wimborne District Community Association joining hands with the Wimborne Chamber of Commerce. Parents will find here sweets, drinks and refreshments available and can find the Waterside Cafe and the Kingfisher Bar open. The free tickets are available at the Allerdale Community Centre.
Free events at the Hebden-Bridge Piano Festival
The Hebden-Bridge Piano Festival is returning for the third year, to thrill scores of music lovers in the popular event to be held in 2015. The festival will have free events. Non-classical piano music and also local piano students’ recitals, will be featured. The event will feature top-class concerts, some inexpensive concerts for families and children, and also master-classes with renowned pianists. Some of the most established pianists of the country who have given performances across the globe, will be giving recitals in the three evenings. They are Gordon FergueThompson, Clare Hamond and Ashley Wass. The acclaimed composer and pianist Lola Perrin will also perform her compositions here. The festival will take place in the town hall and will host free concerts in the cafés of the West Yorkshire town. The event will run from 17th April to 19th April.
