Mayor hosting free Christmas carol service at Rochdale

December 7th, 2014 by Sandy

The Mayor of Rochdale is inviting all to the free event, the Civic Carol Service, that is to take place in Heywood. Everyone is invited to the popular evening of Christmas carols at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, on 10th December, Wednesday, at 7:00PM. This special event is in collaboration with Churches Together. The traditional carols will have Whitworth & Healey Brass Band accompanying them. The evening will also have fund-raising for the charity appeal of the Mayor, collecting for Moorland Home, Springhill Hospice and Youth Link.

Councillor Carol Wardle, who is Mayor, said the service is an enjoyable occasion to put you into the Christmas spirit. She hoped as many people as possible will come to celebrate and enjoy festive carol singing. Guests are asked to take seats by 6:45PM for the free carol service at 7:00PM. Following the free service, as is traditional, all are invited to a free drink and warm mince pie. It will be held at Heywood’s TOPS Business Centre situated on Hind Hill Street, hosted by the Mayor.
