Free WiFi offered in upgraded Ed’s Easy Diner restaurants in UK

Ed’s Easy Diner chain of restaurants has signed a new nationwide deal with The Cloud (BSkyB) to offer a free WiFi internet access service to customers. With some 34 restaurants in the chain across the UK, they have been upgraded now to offer free WiFi access in-house. Ed’s Easy Diner, described as a force growing in the retro burger industry, plans to extend this partnership with the public WiFi access provider.

The service is now live and diners are informed to search for “_the cloud” (SSID) and sign-in. It encourages customers to activate special offers in-restaurant. They also have plans to develop a new app in the future and wants to explore ways to use data analysis to understand their customers. CEO of Ed’s Easy Diner, Andrew Guy, feels WiFi is part of eating out, as it has become part of everyday life and so needs to be adapted, as it ensures people get the service they want. The free WiFi service helps customers to sign-up to Ed’s Club to retrieve offers, he added.
