Wasps, the professional rugby union team making Coventry their home, will be getting the community involved with the game, by offering over 12,000 tickets free. The tickets would be made available to local clubs and schools in Coventry. Wasp will be giving free tickets to the first 3 out of their 4 matches to be held at Ricoh Arena. First is the match against London Irish in the Aviva Premiership, on 21st December. The second one is for the match against Sale Sharks, which is on 4th January and the third a fixture against Cardiff Blues for the LV= Cup, which is on 1st February.
Chief Executive of the club, Nick Eastwood said this free tickets initiative was in partnership with the Warwickshire RFU, the Coventry Sports Network and Coventry Sports Foundation. Their ambition is to become accessible to the community and such initiatives will introduce rugby to as many people in this area, he added.
