5GB of free cloud storage offered by Sony Playmemories

Sony Free Cloud StorageSony enters the online cloud storage sector by introducing Sony Playmemories Online. The company announced the launch of the cloud storage offering 5GB free storage in the UK. This was unveiled in January at CES. The free 5GB storage is offered by Sony Playmemories Online to store media files such as photos and HD videos, unlike Google drive and Dropbox that is created mainly for document storage. Sony Playmemories Online gives you the freedom to access the stored media contents from any devices at anytime. It offer support for PC, Mac as well as Playstation 3 console. At present, the online storage comes in mobile app that can be used with Android, iOS devices and tablets. Compatible apps for Blackberry and Windows Phone handsets are not currently available.

The interesting announcement made by the company is regarding the launch of the service on Bravia TVs and digital photo frames. Once this service is enabled in these devices, it would expand the storage solutions of the customers. Storing, accessing, sharing and managing the media contents are now effortless and quick. To use with Playmemories Online, a new photo editing suiteĀ is made available. With free 5GB storage space, Sony Playmemories Online would offer enhanced storage solutions to all.
