The free national Legend Yachts weekend at Haslar Marina, Gosport
The 2015 National Yachts weekend was a big success and this year the free event will be held on 14th and 15th May at the Haslar Marina, Gosport. As it is a free event for the general public, anybody can visit to experience the friendly and relaxed environment and wonderful yachts. The venue will display an array of new, used and owner’s Legend Yachts.
On 14th May (Saturday) visitors get a chance to socialise on the main visitors pontoon opposite Haslar Marina’s lighthouse restaurant. They can enjoy a glass of Legend wine for free served on the deck of a yacht. Customers can enjoy the relaxed environment while viewing used, new and owner’s Legend Yachts. Customers can inform Legend Yachts to attend. They can join later in the evening the berth holders party with food, drinks and live music . On 15th May (Sunday) money will be raised aboard a Legend yacht for ‘Fit for Felix’ by joining the Three Forts Challenge. Inform Legend Yachts to attend. A presentation and free hog host follows. Carlisle to host the Play Bowls Roadshow soon
Carlisle City Centre will be hosting the Play Bowls Roadshow in the weekend, which is on 23rd April, Saturday, to be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The roadshow will be set up in the city centre at the top of the English Street. Everybody and passers-by are encouraged to have a go at bowls here. The event is in support of local clubs inviting people to come in and learn the game.
Play Bowls is an initiative to attract new players to the game of bowls, by the Bowls Development Alliance. The organisation also helps fund local clubs to run beginner sessions and open days. The roadshow is part of the effort to attract people of local towns to try out the game. The Play Bowls Roadshow is aimed at giving persons of all ages the chance to try out the sport, whether it be in a local supermarket, a county show, at a town hall, a local leisure centre or even a shopping mall. It is an advertising and promotional tool and offers those trying it out the details of the local club and a free session at the club by a voucher.
At Carlisle, volunteers from the Wetheral and Carlisle Subscription Bowling Clubs will help to run the roadshow. Also, to promote the game of bowls they will be giving away leaflets detailing the beginner sessions over the coming weeks at the clubs.
